Stephen Kaplan, MD of Blair Gastroenterology Associates

Blair Gastroenterology Associates was established in 1980 by Stephen Kaplan, MD. The original practice was located in the Cricket Field Plaza, across from the Altoona Hospital. Blair Gastro started with just four employees and two physicians. The practice was relocated in 1996 to 810 Valley View Boulevard, Altoona, PA.

In 2005 the office expanded by adding an endoscopy suite giving the practice 27,000 square feet of space. The latest expansion, completed in January, 2020, added 1,800 square feet. This addition will provide more exam rooms and will provide more infusion chairs for Crohn’s and Colitis patients.

Today Blair Gastro has over 100 employees including nine board certified gastroenterologists. We are the premier care facility between Harrisburg and Pittsburgh. Blair Gastro offers comprehensive treatment, diagnostic services, and the latest treatment methods available for disorders if the digestive system.
