Inflammatory Bowel Disease is a chronic inflammation of all or part of the digestive tract that can be ongoing and intermediate. Symptoms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease can include severe diarrhea, abdominal pain, fatigue, and weight loss. It can be debilitating and lead to life-threatening complications. Inflammatory Bowel Disease is a combination of bacteria, viruses, or antigens that triggers the body’s immune system to react with inflammation in the intestinal tract. The cause could be hereditary, genetic or environmental. Inflammatory Bowel Disease can be diagnosed with different methods depending on the severity including a stool exam, blood tests, and a colonoscopy.
